Gioachino Rossin's William Tell is an opera in four acts. First performed in Paris in 1829, it was Rossini's final opera. Around four hours in length, the most famous part of the opera is the overture, which was used in the American TV Show The Lone Ranger. The original was written for two trumpets, and this arrangement expands the instrumentation to three trumpets. This arrangement was written with natural trumpet in mind (specifically the University of Kentucky Baroque Trumpet Ensemble), but it may also be played on valved instruments.
